[ ooc; asgard: the tournament of magick ]

The Tournament Of Magick
Whether you hold the Nine Gods of this realm, fate, or sheer misfortune accountable for your presence here, the fact remains that you each stand here today against your will, but on your own two feet. You have taken the cards handed you and dealt them to your favour, to see yourselves through unfathomable adversity. Here, you prove your ability to adapt, your unwillingness to bend, and the strength of body, mind and heart to make the most of that which was given you. Here, you stand against the Gods and prove that even we few Travellers are amongst the mighty.
This is the Tournament of Magick, and your glory awaits you.
Organisation
HostsKing Arthur Pendragon and Merlin in conjunction with the Teacher's Council

- The Arena

Code of Conduct
1.) The first and foremost rule is that of courtesy - the knight's code will be adhered to strictly under punishment of banishment from the grounds.Disqualification
2.) Exactly one (1) battle is to take place at any given time. The next battle will commence upon completion and cleaning of the previous battle.
3.) Only the combatant(s) whose name(s) is(are) entered on the roster may compete. Substitutions must be approved before the start of the event.
4.) This is a magic only competition. All weapons must be surrendered before entering the field of combat, to be returned upon completion of the round, with the exception of those competing in the individual division.
5.) Battles will cease upon one of three things:
- one or both combatant(s) concedes defeat and retreats from the battle.
- one or both combatant(s) is rendered unconscious or unable to continue fighting.
- the Warden determines that the battle is unjust or has become a threat to one or both combatant(s)'s life.
Upon disqualification, the offending combatant will be removed from the premises and blacklisted from all subsequent competitions. The following are grounds for disqualification:
1.) Breaking any of the above rules in the Code of Conduct.
2.) Deliberately disobeying the instructions or judgment of the Warden and/or Hosts.
3.) Refusal to cease any battle upon the above conditions, as decided and declared by the Warden.
4.) Willful intent to cheat through any and all means in an effort to gain the upperhand.
5.) Willful intent to do harm outside of the arena and/or end the life of any other persons at any time while on the premises.
The Arena
For the duration of this tournament, the Arena will be drastically altered to provide the participants with a suitable place of combat. With everyone limited to specific powers, one way to gain the upper hand is to use the surroundings creatively and efficiently. The centre of the Arena grounds has been transformed into a multi-terrained 100 metre ring marked by a white line. The ring itself with be a patchwork of trees, open field, small lake, and rocky ground. The participants will be tracked through the grounds by the use of the Tracker Rune, as detailed right yonder.

Entry Submission Form
OOC Process of Events
- Each character submitted will be placed on a roster with a respective number/colour for identification.
- Characters will be entered into a standard competition tier system using the Random Number Generator.
I'll probably physically create the charts, just for visual aid. Because I hate myself. :(b
- There will be a catch-all log for the tournament, where players are free to log out their respective battles if they so choose.
If players choose to opt out of ICly playing out these battles, the victor will simply be announced within the aforementioned log by the Warden.
- Victors of each individual battle can be settled one of two ways:
This is left to player discretion, you guys can decide which method you'd like to use!
- OOCly discussed between the two involved parties under supervision of the hosting mundanes/mods, because we want to make sure these things are kept civil and fair!
- Designating either character even or odd, then entering 1 - 50 to the Random Number Generator.
- Overall tournament victors win a prize that is being donated by Thor, so we'll announce what those are when the time comes!
- Also, as a side note, I made all of this up so I have noooo clue how accurate or even viable these things are. Just play along. Pretend things make sense. Shh. I am super srs bsns.
